Young Church
Jesus said, "Whoever welcomes one of these children in my name welcomes me."
We believe that children are valued and important members of our church family. In Young Church we
try to help children grow as individuals in the knowledge and love of Jesus. Our intention is to provide Christian learning, fellowship and fun.
Young Church meets on Sundays during the 9.30 am service and is called
Promiseland. There are two age-related groups:
- 3-7 years (Pre-school and Key Stage 1)
- 7-11 years (Key Stage 2)
There is a team of dedicated leaders and helpers. In Promiseland our time together includes many of the following activities:
- Worship
- Prayer
- Bible stories
- Memory verses
- Crafts
- Games/quizzes
- Refreshments
Children go straight to their groups from 9.15 am and join the adults for the
end of the morning service.
Crèche
A crèche is available on Sunday mornings for babies and toddlers under 3 years of age. Supervision and activities are provided.
Child Protection Policy
St Luke's operates a Child Protection Policy, "Children and Young People First" issued by the Diocese of Southwell & Nottingham. The church's Child Protection Co-ordinator is Anne Swarbrick. All children's leaders and helpers have been approved through the police CRB system.
