History

Parish: St Luke's Gamston & Bridgford
Patron: Southwell & Nottingham Diocesan Board of Patronage
Deanery: West Bingham
Electoral roll: 187

The separate parish of Gamston and Bridgford was formally constituted on the 1st August 1990. Until then it was officially the daughter church of St Giles' Parish Church, West Bridgford. Its members originally started to worship in separate, originally temporary, premises in 1951. Ministers serving it have been curate and priests-in-charge for short periods. That continued until 1982. The last priest-in-charge then served as its minister for 13 years, becoming vicar in 1990.

Our most recent Vicar, Revd Steve Silvester, took up office in 1996 and has now moved to lead St Nicholas Church, Nottingham. Revd Carol Tainton served as Curate from 1999 to 2003 and Revd Ron Bushyager from 2004 to 2007.
